Rudbeckia fulgida. Also known as black-eyed or brown-eyed Susan, this familiar and beloved perennial is bright, long-blooming and easy to grow. Attractive to butterflies but not to deer. If you are going to try one native plant in a sunny spot, this would be a good one to choose.
